NORTH HATLEY, Que. — Quebec’s Manoir Hovey was named the number-1 resort and inn in Canada in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2016. In the 100 Best Hotels in the World category, Manoir Hovey came in in 19th position.

Most of the rooms have lake views, along with a combination of fireplaces, private balconies and therapeutic tubs. Built in 1900, the resort is modeled after George Washington’s Mount Vernon home.
Fogo Island Inn in Newfoundland was number-2 on the list of top Canadian destinations and 52nd ion the 100 Best Hotels in the World category.
The Travel+Leisure World’s Best Awards rely on guest experiences and hotel/resort rankings are based on readers’ ratings of five characteristics: rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value.
