OTTAWA — The Lord Elgin Hotel will be re-opening on Oct. 1, 2021 after being closed for 558 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s been a long time coming, but we’re getting ready to re-open the Lord Elgin Hotel on Oct. 1,” said the hotel’s Instagram post. “Our warmest smiles and welcomes will be waiting. We can’t wait to welcome you back.”

The historic hotel — which first opened its doors in July 1941 — was forced to shutter on Mar. 23, 2020 at the start of the pandemic.
