TORONTO — In light of the Toronto Raptors’ stunning winning streak, which has lead them to the NBA Championship finals for the first time in franchise history, the Kimpton Saint George’s general manager, Bertrand Mangeot, has issued a friendly challenge to the Kimpton team in San Francisco.

The challenge — issued to David von Winckler, director of Hotel Operations at the Sir Francis Drake, Emily Glick, general manager of Hotel Tomo, Nick Gregory, senior VP of Operations at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and their teams — will see the San Francisco teams fulfill a number of duties when the Raptors hold the championship trophy. These include serving Ontario wine and maple cookies/treats at their evening wine hour (a Kimpton signature amenity) while dressed in Raptors gear. In addition, Gregory will have to wear an inflatable T-Rex costume.

Gregory, who accepted the challenge, issued his own wager that, should the Warriors win, the Saint George team must serve the Cable Car cocktail, which is featured in Harry Denton’s Starlight Room in San Francisco, during evening wine hour for the balance of June (assuming the series only goes four games) and have front-of-house hotel team and managers wear “The Town” shirts on the first Saturday after the win. Mangeot must also prominently showcase a Golden State Warriors coffee mug on his desk and use it daily.
