EDMONTON, Alta. —Joakim Gomes is the executive chef at the Westin Edmonton Hotel.

Chef Gomes brings 20 years of experience to his new role. Early on in his culinary career, Gomez spent time in the United Arab Emirates and India, where he developed culinary departments and menus as part of several pre-opening teams. Upon his arrival in Canada, Gomes became senior culinarian for the Radisson brand. From there, he earned his first executive-chef role at Fort Edmonton Park where he oversaw the Hotel Selkirk and the park’s venues.

“We’re thrilled to have chef Gomes join us as executive chef at the Westin Edmonton,” says Ghandour. “Our culinary team, along with chef Gomes’ international experience will elevate our food and beverage options, combining Westin’s Eat Well pillar as a main source of inspiration of keeping our guests well-being in mind.”
