TORONTO — The International Plaza Hotel + Conference Centre Toronto Airport — formerly the DoubleTree by Hilton — launched yesterday as a member of the Preferred Hotel Group’s Sterling Hotels brand.

“In the spirit of continuous improvement throughout the hotel’s unique 61-year history in serving the Toronto area and abroad, our move to become affiliated with a world-renowned company like Preferred Hotel Group will prove to be a great advantage for our hotel’s diverse team as well as our guests…. We believe that honouring cultures and celebrating diversity allows us to best communicate and connect with travellers on an international level,” said Daniel Blachut, GM of the International Plaza Hotel. “Our guests will benefit from the new enhancements we have underway.”

The new addition to Preferred’s global portfolio of independent luxury hotels is being primed for refreshed building exterior aesthetics, a new lobby and reception area, the introduction of “state-of-the-art” boardrooms, remodelled ballrooms and meeting facilities as well as improved technology.

Proclaimed as the fifth largest hotel conference centre in Canada, the building includes 17 meeting room combinations, 433 guestrooms, multiple dining options, an indoor waterpark, a fitness centre and a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle service to the Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The rebranded hotel is located at 655 Dixon Rd. in Toronto.
