TORONTO — InnVest Hotels has announced its partnership with Food Banks Canada as the selected charitable partner for 2024. At a time when food insecurity is affecting countless individuals and families across the country, InnVest Hotels will be making a significant donation to support this vital cause on Giving Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2024).
“It couldn’t be a more crucial time to support this cause, as evidenced by some impactful insights recently shared by Food Banks Canada,” says Lydia Chen, president & CEO of InnVest Hotels. “With one in three food-bank users being children and more than two million Canadians visiting food banks in March 2024 — a staggering 90-per-cent increase from same time pre-pandemic levels — it’s our responsibility to step up and make a difference in the communities we serve.”
To raise awareness and support for this initiative, InnVest Hotels will host local activities until November 29, including collecting non-perishable food items in hotel lobbies to support local food banks, volunteering at local food banks in the areas where its hotels are located and engaging in volunteer work with Second Harvest.
“Together, we can work to ensure that no child goes hungry and that families have access to the nutritious food they need,” says Chen. “We encourage our guests, partners, and the broader community to join us by donating, volunteering and spreading the word about food insecurity in our communities on Giving Tuesday and beyond.”
