ATLANTA, Ga. — InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) released its 2017 preliminary results, showing the company experienced strong growth last year — including growth in all regions, which contributed to global RevPAR increasing by 2.7 per cent. Net system size grew to 5,348 hotels (798,000 rooms) on the heels of four per cent year-over-year growth — representing the best organic performance in net system-size growth since 2009.

These results have driven an eight-per-cent increase in underlying operating profit, as well as a 22-per-cent increase in underlying EPS and underpins the company’s decision to raise the total dividend by 11 per cent for the year.

In Canada, the fourth quarter benefitted from strong corporate and group demand with RevPAR growth of 8.9 per cent. At the end of 2017, Canada had 31 deals signed for upcoming new hotels.
