TORONTO — At Humber Polytechnic, program coordinator and professor Kristy Adams, is leading a partnership with Hilton Toronto Hotel & Suites, to help students gain essential skills and pathways to successful careers.
“The unwavering support from Natasha Melanson and her dedicated team provides invaluable mentorship and real-world experience,” says Adams. As general manager, Melanson also serves on Humber’s Program Advisory Committee.
In 2023, Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites launched a strategic internal hiring initiative aimed at nurturing talent from within. This effort is set to expand in 2024, with plans to recruit 14 interns per college module and implement comprehensive training programs. This initiative goes beyond simply filling positions; it invests in passionate individuals committed to their careers.
By the end of the third quarter, the hotel had hired 27 interns, with nine offered permanent roles and five existing team members promoted – three to management positions.
