TORONTO — sbe is bringing New York’s iconic Hudson hotel to Toronto.
The proposed 75,000-sq.-ft., 146-room project will be developed in partnership with Lamb Development Corp and IE Hospitality and is set to debut in 2024 at 445 Adelaide St. W.
“I am very proud to see the iconic Hudson Hotel take its legacy outside of New York in the cosmopolitan city of Toronto,” says Sam Nazarian, founder and CEO of sbe. “This marks the beginning of the Hudson brand’s global expansion and continuation of its innovation and well-known fame. We couldn’t be prouder to work with Lamb Development Corp and IE Hospitality — the most respected and well-known industry leaders — on this project and appreciate the trust they’ve put in sbe to bring one of the hospitality world’s true originals to Toronto.”
The Hudson is part of sbe’s collection of luxury boutique hotels, The House of Originals, which consists of trailblazing properties that have set a standard for hospitality and experience that makes each hotel iconic in its own right.
The hotel will feature an array of sbe’s premium culinary and nightlife experiences, including a rooftop restaurant, a three-meal signature restaurant, expansive bar and café — with other features to be announced.
Toronto-based design firm DesignAgency will be at the helm of the interior design for the proposed hotel, while Peter Clewes, principal of architectsAlliance in Toronto, will act as lead architect for the project.
“This hotel is going to be fantastic. Architecturally, it is stunning. It is a 146-room standalone hotel (i.e., no condos), so we will be focused 100-per-cent on hotel guests,” says Brad J. Lamb, founder of Lamb Development Corp. “Our rooftop bar/restaurant overlooks the park and the skyline. It’s going to be a hot ticket.”
The project is subject to municipal approvals with hearings scheduled for spring 2020.
