TORONTO — Any hotelier will tell you it’s service excellence that steals the show. With that in mind, the Greater Toronto Hotel Association (GTHA) introduced a new awards program this year to recognize service excellence.
Dubbed the Spirit Awards, the GTHA recently presented 18 awards at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, including the Lifetime Achievement award, presented to Joe Gomes of the Park Hyatt, who has been bartender at the property’s Roof Lounge for more than 50 years.
“The Greater Toronto Hotel Association is very proud of these individuals and the contributions
they make to the visitor experience in the Greater Toronto Area,” said Terry Mundell, GTHA, president and CEO. “Our congratulations go out to each award winner and nominee for their outstanding service to guests visiting our GTHA member hotels. We celebrate the service, professionalism and innovation of these outstanding Ambassadors.”
