TORONTO — After an extensive search by its shareholders, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has named real-estate investment executive Allen Smith its new CEO.

Smith, 56, was previously CEO of Prudential Real Estate Investors, a Newark, N.J.-based real-estate investment management company. His experience includes hotel investment, commercial property investment, organizational development, portfolio management, corporate finance and business operations.

Smith will assume the position Sept. 23.
