VANCOUVER —For the 39th consecutive year, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is continuing its role as a founding sponsor of the annual Terry Fox Run, which supports the legacy of Terry Fox worldwide to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

The team from Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver will stage the event in Vancouver, which will see hundreds of runners take on the 10km Stanley Park seawall to pay tribute to a beloved Canadian hero. Participants also have the choice of a shorter 3km route geared toward bikes, wheelchairs, strollers, rollerblades and dogs on leash.

This year’s event, taking place on September 15, will feature KiSS Radio’s Tara Jean as host, a pre-run warm-up by personal trainer and New Balance Vancouver ambassador Gemma Slaughter, family-friendly activities and a light breakfast from Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver.

“Our team is incredibly proud to be hosting Vancouver’s annual Terry Fox Run once again, joining our colleagues worldwide in support of cancer research,” shares Martin Sinclair, general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver.

Last year’s Stanley Park event raised more than $155,000 to support cancer research. Over the last 38 years, Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver has helped raise more than $2.8 million with the support of community, volunteers and participants.

The very first Terry Fox Run was hosted in Toronto in 1981 by Four Seasons founder Isadore Sharp, who had contacted Fox in hospital and expressed his wishes to hold an annual run to raise funds for cancer research. Now, Four Seasons hotels around the world organize fundraising events encouraging locals and visitors alike to join in the race.
