MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — The foodservice and hospitality industry gathered at Mississauga, Ont.’s International Centre this past Saturday — in support of Friends of We Care — for the annual gala dinner, where a cheque for more than one million dollars was presented to Easter Seals, Canada to help send kids to camps across the country.

Hosted by Breakfast Television’s Kevin Frankish, the evening, themed ‘Light Up the Night,’ was a blend of fabulous food, — prepared by executive chef Joe Levesque — awards and recognition.

Of particular note, were the evening’s award winners, including Corporate Friend of We Care Sysco Canada; We Care Hall of Fame inductee Jack MacDonald of Compass Group Canada; and The Gary Wright Humanitarian Award winner, Carol Moffatt Bailes, who was recognized for her years of fundraising initiatives benefiting the Friends of We Care cause.

Afterward, it was a flashback to the ‘70s, with entertainment provided by Night Fever Bee Gees and Abbamania.
