TORONTO — Canadians say that the first 24-hours of their vacation is crucial, according to a study by Booking.com.

According to the research, nearly half of Canadian travellers (48 per cent) believe the first day sets the tone for the rest of the holiday and almost 30 per cent go as far as to say these hours can make or break their entire trip.

Globally, 38 per cent of vacationers believe the first 24-hours of a trip are the most memorable, but had high expectations of what they wanted from the trip and the accommodations.

More than 26 per cent of Canadians say they worry about things going wrong in the first day, with no access to Wi-Fi being one of their top concerns. Close to half (46 per cent) were worried they would lose their luggage, while 42 per cent were concerned about the accommodations not living up to their expectations.

Nearly two-thirds of Canadians hoped to arrive to perfect weather.
