TORONTO — Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is preparing to make its debut in India, with the launch of a 255-room hotel in Jaipur Aug.9.

The hotel design was influenced by the Mughal dynasty and is a sensitive re-imaging of the traditional palace of ancient imperial power. “A focal point of each guestroom is the spacious bathroom, which is entered through glazed sliding door panels, each featuring a traditional ornately patterned screen and boast[ing] striking floors, which have a complex geometrical pattern of stars and diamonds,” reads a statement from the hotel chain.

The hotels features a number of restaurants and bars, including Zarin, a Indian specialty restaurant, which highlights classical dishes prepared using traditional techniques and spices; Zoya, an all-day dining restaurant; Anjum, a tea lounge; Aza a regency-style library bar with a collection of wine, bespoke cocktails and malt whisky; and the Cigar Diwan, a classic smoking room.

The Fairmont Jaipur features 60,000 square feet of meeting space, and a 14,000-square-foot Willow Stream Spa will debut in the coming months.
