Sunny Joseph has taken on the role of general manager of the Fairmont Palliser Hotel in downtown Calgary, according to The Calgary Herald.

Joseph brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having worked at the Carlton Hotel in Dubai and the Sheraton in Doha, Qatar where he took on the position of bar captain. Joseph later took a position at the Forte Grand Hotel in Dubai where he moved up from bar supervisor to restaurant manager and later took on the position of director of restaurants.

After the 2010 winter Olympics in Vancouver, Joseph took on the position of director of operations at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, then, in 2015, he was hotel manager at Toronto’s Royal York — helping to oversee the construction crews in the hotel’s $400-million renovation project.

In his new role as general manager with the Fairmont Palliser Hotel, Joseph will help oversee the hotel’s main-floor renovations. Frank Architecture & Interiors has been engaged to make the lobby area of the hotel more animated, with a new bar at the entrance to the Rimrock Room, which will also be renovated.
