JASPER, Alta. — The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is expanding its Canine-Ambassador program with the addition of Calla, who will work alongside Stanley, the Lodge’s ambassador of nine years.

Calla is a five-year old golden retriever from Ontario who will be part of the resort’s concierge team. She was born at Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind (CGDB) and trained as part of their Guide Dog and Assistance Dog Training Program. She was well suited for their Mobility Assistance Program. Since training was put on pause due to the pandemic, Calla headed out west and now welcomes guests in the lobby of the Main Lodge when Stanley is off.

Additionally, the lodge has enhanced its pet offerings and recently launched its Pet Menu, where guests can order dog-tailored dishes from The Great “Hound,” the pet-friendly eating area surrounding The Great Hall.
