TORONTO — Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to host a “tea day,” on Nov. 12, with themed events and activities planned at its luxury hotel locations around the world.
Inspired by the historic tradition of afternoon tea, Fairmont properties around the world will host events and serve tea and tea-inspired cocktails from a regional menu.
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise will serve signature “Tea-quila” cocktails, Fairmont Empress in Victoria will feature tastings with a tea sommelier and Switzerland’s Fairmont Le Montreux Palace will celebrate tea Swiss-style with finger sandwiches made with local cheese and beef along with mini meringue from Gruyère. On the home front, The Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver will offer warm (and spiked) teas paired with pastries, while Quebec’s Fairmont Le Château Frontenac will be offering hot maple tea with sortilege liquor.
In some cases, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
