EDMONTON — Mridul Bhatt is the new executive chef at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton. With more than a decade of international culinary experience, Bhatt will oversee eight banquet and meeting rooms, the in-room dining department and two hotel-dining outlets — The Harvest Room and The Confederation Lounge.
“After 13 years in the industry, it’s a dream-come-true to lead a Fairmont hotel culinary team in the heart of a city building up its culinary name. I look forward to being a part of this exciting growth and serving up tasteful memories,” says Bhatt.
Chef Bhatt will also help take all of the hotel’s current local commitments initiatives to the next level. “I sincerely cannot wait to further develop the honeybee program — adding one more hive to make a total of three hives in the gardens — to innovate ways to foster and grow a sustainable herb garden and to work with local farmers, such as Prairie Gardens, Sunworks Farms, and the Morinville Colony Egg Barn to name a few,” he adds.
