VICTORIA — The bargaining committee for Fairmont Empress hotel workers has reached a tentative agreement with the employer.
Unifor Local 4267 served strike notice last week after a lack of progress at the bargaining table. Local 4267 represents almost 500 workers in the hotel’s housekeeping, culinary, grounds keeping, serving, guest relations, maintenance and engineering departments.
Empress workers will vote on ratifying the contract this week. More details about the agreement will be made available after the ratification meeting.
