PHOENIX — The Belgium-based Rezidor Hotel Group, Bethesda, Md.-based Marriott International and Parsippany, N.J.-based Wyndham Worldwide have earned the designation of The World’s Most Ethical Companies in the lodging category from The Ethisphere Institute, which recognized 132 businesses across 21 countries.

Winners demonstrate ethical business standards and practices, exceed legal compliance minimums and introduce best practices in the industry. “The World’s Most Ethical Companies embrace the correlation between ethical business practice and improved company performance. These companies use ethics as a means to further define their industry leadership and understand that creating an ethical culture and earning the World’s Most Ethical Companies recognition involves more than just an outward-facing message or a handful of senior executives saying the right thing,” said Timothy Erblich, CEO of Ethisphere.

Companies are judged in five categories: ethics and compliance programs, corporate citizenship and responsibility, culture of ethics, governance as well as leadership, innovation and reputation.
