VANCOUVER — The Green Key-rated DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre Regina has inked a new partnership with Bullfrog Power to provide clean, green energy for the hotel’s meeting and conference rooms as well as three Hilton HHonors floors.

“We have ambitious goals to be an industry leader in sustainability,” says Mike Wurster, GM, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre Regina, which also sports Tesla car charging stations, a roof-top garden, an incentivized Go-Green Room initiative, filtered water stations to reduce the use of bottled water and a comprehensive recycling program. “As the first hotel in Saskatchewan to choose Bullfrog Power’s green electricity, this partnership is a clear demonstration of our commitment to reduce our impact on the environment.”

Bullfrog Power’s green electricity comes from a blend of wind and low-impact hydro power, sourced from new Canadian renewable energy facilities. Its generators put 100 per cent clean, pollution-free electricity onto the grid to match the amount of conventional power that the hotel uses. “We’re proud of the leadership role DoubleTree by Hilton is taking in the province’s hospitality sector,” says Steve Giblin, president and CEO of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts. “This partnership is one more way we are able to offer our guests a more environmentally sustainable stay as part of our commitment to create a truly rewarding hotel experience.”
