VANCOUVER — Destination Canada president & CEO Marsha Walden has become a member of the Presidents Group — a B.C.-based organization comprised of senior leaders who are active champions for more accessible and inclusive workplaces.

While Walden has been a member of the Presidents Group since her time at Destination British Columbia, she will now represent Destination Canada as a new member.

Destination Canada has also named Monique Gomel as the interim chair of its Board of Directors. Gomel has served as the vice-chair of the organization’s board since 2017.

In the announcement of Gomel’s appointment, Destination Canada thanked Ben Cowan-Dewar for his leadership during his four-year tenure as chair and his role in guiding the organization through the first year of the pandemic.

In addition to the Board Chair vacancy, several board positions have concluded their terms. All board positions are appointed by the Governor in Council (GIC). A formal GIC selection process to appoint a new Chair and fill other director vacancies will be launched in 2021.
