BETHESDA, Md. — More than 375 of Courtyard by Marriott-branded hotels in the U.S. and Canada will be renovated externally by 2024. The renovations will include a re-designed porte-cochere, re-framed and re-painted exterior surfaces, ambient lighting, new signage and fresh landscaping.

In addition to exterior renovations, Courtyard has introduced its newest generational prototype featuring an upgraded interior design, with a modernized lobby, meeting spaces and upgraded fitness centres. The revamped Bistro Bar is the focal point of the lobby, serving a classic American menu. CRATE market, situated at the back of the lobby with additional seating, features premium snacks, Bistro-to-go sandwiches and salads and other retail items.

“Over 38 years ago, Courtyard was the first hotel brand specifically for business travellers. Our new design strategy builds on that Courtyard legacy in ways that are perfectly suited for both leisure and business travellers,” says Diane Mayer, vice-president and global brand leader, Classic Select Brands. “As the pioneer amongst select-service brands, Courtyard continues to adapt to the changing ways that guests live, work and play through thoughtful innovation to provide the best possible guest experience.”
