MONTREAL — Cogir Real Estate and Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ have officially broken ground on the $200-million Humaniti Montreal project. The companies also announced that the hotel slated to be built as part of this project, Humaniti Hotel Montreal, will open as an Autograph Collection Hotel — becoming the Marriott-owned collection brand’s first property in Quebec.

Humaniti Hotel Montreal — which will be managed by Urgo Hotels Canada — will be a 193-room luxury-boutique property comprising the project’s 10th through 18th floors. The hotel will feature a 100-seat restaurant, a lounge/bar, event space, spa, gym and roof-top pool.

“We found the project very exciting, as did Marriott, and had no trouble convincing them to add it to their unique hotel collection,” says Serge Primeau, vice-president, Operations and Development, Urgo Hotels Canada. “There is no doubt in our minds that Humaniti’s DNA will allow us to elevate the hotel’s performance to the same level as the rest of the properties in our North-American hotel portfolio.”

Humaniti Montreal is a mixed-use project that will feature rental units, condominiums and office and commercial spaces in addition to Humaniti Hotel Montreal.
