Condé Nast Traveler has announced the winners of its 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards. Canadian winners included Wickaninnish Inn on Vancouver Island, which won first place in the Best Resorts in Canada category; the Loden Vancouver, which won first place in the Best Hotels in Western Canada category; and Manoir Hovey (pictured), a lakeside Relais & Chateaux retreat in the Eastern Quebec, which was named the best hotel in Eastern Canada.

“We are both delighted and very pleasantly surprised to learn about this award,” said Jason Stafford, managing director of the Manoir Hovey. ”To earn the top spot, particularly among such well-respected brands as The Ritz-Carlton and the Four Seasons, is quite an honour. It also tells us that travellers continue to seek out charming, authentic, unique experiences that convey a true sense of place, and that is what we continuously strive to provide our guests.”

Approximately 77,000 readers voted on the winning hotels, which were ranked by their rooms, service, location, food/dining, design, activities/facilities and value.
