TORONTO — Ryerson University will award an honorary Doctor of Commerce degree to hotelier Christiane Germain in recognition of her contributions to the Canadian hospitality industry.

Christiane is the co-president of Groupe Germain Hospitalité, which owns and operates boutique hotels across Canada. She is also an active member on Boards of the following companies: Loblaw Companies Ltd., Groupe Le Massif, the Institute for Governance of Private and Public organizations, and the Banff Centre. She’s involved in charity work for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Canada and Centraide Montréal.

Germain is a Chevalière of the Ordre National du Québec and was the recipient of the Canadian Entrepreneur Hotelier Award.

She will receive her doctorate tomorrow, June 14.
