ROCKVILLE, Md. — Choice Hotels International, Inc. is seeking to provide consumers with more authentic reviews with the launch of its Verified Reviews system on

“Research indicates that booking decisions for 81 percent of consumers is influenced by comments posted on review websites. Choice Hotels has launched this new system in order to ensure that its valued customers are provided the most accurate information possible,” said Robert McDowell, SVP, Global Distribution and Loyalty.

Unlike other sites, will ask reviewers to provide their booking confirmation number to ensure that potential guests make their booking decisions based on the reviews of real guests. The Verified Review will also feature a star-rating scale based on Overall Experience scores. Reviews and review responses will be moderated by Bazaarvoice, a third-party company.
