TORONTO – Today, Choice Hotels Canada announced the recent appointment of five exceptional industry talents to its leadership roster. The growth reflects the company’s continued dedication to providing an unparalleled level of support to its franchisees through industry-leading training and resources.

“Leadership in our industry comes from strategic diligence – constantly anticipating what comes next and what else we can offer our franchisees to bolster their success,” says Tim Oldfield, managing director, franchise performance for Choice Hotels Canada. “Training, enhanced access to support services and dynamic leadership – these are all elements of that kind of winning approach.”

Led by Brendan Gibney, director, franchise operations, the new team members will be responsible for: providing support to hotels, examining feedback from franchisees in order to help evaluate current performance and identifying areas for improvement. They will also facilitate opportunities to implement the training needed to maintain the highest standards of performance.

The newest additions to the team include the following:

Rob Alldred, franchise performance consultant – Alldred joins Choice Hotels Canada with a proven track record of exceeding guest and employee satisfaction metrics; bringing with him a wealth of experience in operations and revenue management within independent, franchise and corporate environments. Prior to joining Choice, Alldred held positions in Ottawa including general manager at SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts, executive director at Revera Inc. and general manager at Sheraton, as well as director of operations at the Hilton Toronto Airport.

Patrick Dinan, Choice training consultant – Formerly a franchise performance consultant, Dinan will assume his new role bringing a great deal of experience and a demonstrated ability to engage audiences in training activities that elevate their skills. Prior to joining Choice Hotels Canada in 1997, Dinan taught Hospitality and Tourism at LaSalle College in Montréal.

Daniel Da Emi, bilingual specialist, Operations Resource Centre – Bringing with him a wealth of experience in growing staff engagement and improving service at the property level, Da Emi joins the team with a focus on supporting franchisees across the country. Prior to Choice, Da Emi held positions in the GTA including assistant general manager/HR manager at The Waterside Inn and Conference Centre, manager at The Old Mill Inn & Spa and guest services manager at Best Western Sunset Inn.

Kent Hull, franchise performance consultant – Hull joins the team with a proven track record of helping hotels grow their business through sustainable operations and revenue management strategies. Hull has worked with a number of brands such as Westin, Fairmont, Sandman and Sonesta Resorts and was most recently a vice-president, revenue management at Revenue Generation LLC.

Eric Normand, franchise performance consultant – Normand comes on board with an established skill set gained within independent, franchise and corporate environments. He has a wealth of knowledge in operations and sales, and an extensive background in food and beverage. Prior to taking on this role, Normand held several positions in Quebec including general manager at Clarion Hotel, director at Cote Jardin, general manager at Hotel Gouverneur and general manager at SilverBirch Hotels and Resorts.

Choice Hotels Canada’s market leadership is evident not only in its exceptional hiring practices but also in its response to ongoing franchisee feedback. The organization has now enhanced its bilingual support service for franchisees and has doubled its Operations Resource Centre team. Choice Hotels Canada is also proud to be the first in the industry to expand its help desk hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (EDT), providing franchisees in Western Canada help desk support until 5 p.m. local time.
