MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Choice Hotels Canada opened the doors to five new hotels during the fourth quarter of 2015 and has big plans for the upcoming quarter.

“We had a record-breaking year for hotel openings for Choice Hotels Canada,” says Brian Leon, managing director, Choice Hotels Canada. “2015 was a year of major changes and great outcomes for the company. We have no doubt these new additions will serve as fantastic representatives of our brands and bring a higher level of hospitality to these communities across Canada.”

During the past quarter the Mississauga, Ont.-based franchisor, which currently has 340 units in Canada, opened the 38-room Le Grande-Allée Hotel & Suites, an Ascend Hotel Collection, in Québec City; the 121-room Comfort Suites, Regina; the 50-room Quality Inn & Suites Amsterdam, Fredericton; the 96-room Quality Inn & Suites, Yorkton, Sask.; and the 94-room Clarion Lakeside Inn & Conference Centre, Kenora, Ont.

The company plans to open five more hotels in the first quarter of 2016.
