TORONTO — Choice Hotels Canada’s recent 2011 Gold and Platinum Hospitality awards saw 28 accolades handed out to staff representing the brand’s top-performing hotels, with 19 Gold and nine Platinum winners.


“These hotels demonstrate an exceptional focus on guest satisfaction and dedication to providing superior service,” says Tim Oldfield, managing director, Franchise Performance for Choice Hotels Canada. “Gold Award winners are amongst the 10 per-cent best-performing hotels within our system. Platinum winners are the best in the system, reflecting the top three per cent of hotels throughout Canada. To receive a hospitality award is a clear example of hotel’s dedication to operational excellence and their commitment to an exceptional guest experience.”

 

Platinum recipients included, Comfort Inn & Suites, Medicine Hat, Alta.; Quality Inn, Sarnia, Ont.; and Econo Lodge Canmore, Canmore, Alta. The list of gold winners includes, Comfort Inn, Yarmouth, N.S.;   Comfort Suites, Kelowna, B.C.; Quality Suites, Whitby, Ont.; and Econo Lodge Montmorency Falls, Boischatel, Que.

 

The winners were chosen from a pool of 290 eligible Canadian hotels and judged on the results of comprehensive selection criteria, including an evaluation of guest surveys, third-party assurance audits and a staff desire to meet guest needs.
