TORONTO — After 12 years with Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory Group, Charles Suddaby is retiring.
Cushman recruited Suddaby to establish its Hospitality & Gaming valuation practice in Canada and, under his leadership, the practice has grown to one of the largest hospitality valuation practices, which appraises more than 250 hotels per year across Canada. Suddaby has had a long and distinguished career in the hotel industry having worked at various consultancy groups, such as Laventhol & Horwath and Price Waterhouse, before starting his own consultancy in 1995, which he ran until 2008 when he joined Cushman & Wakefield.
Suddaby commenced his career in the hotel industry in management positions with hotels in London, Bermuda and Toronto. He has been a respected leader in his field for more than three decades.
Brian Flood, who has co-lead the hospitality valuation practice since joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2017, will continue to manage the Canadian practice along with Cindy Schoenauer in Vancouver and Vadess Johan in Toronto. The group will continue to call on Suddaby’s broad experience and knowledge, particularly as the hotel industry emerges from the impact of COVID-19.
