ST. ANDREWS, N.B. — Algonquin Resort in St. Andrews, N.B. is in the spotlight with news that a number of companies have filed liens against the property’s owners to recover money owed for the renovation of the hotel, reports CBC News.

The hotel’s owners, Southwest Properties and Newcastle Developments, are named in the claims, which purportedly amount to $881,000.

According to the CBC, Southwest Properties president Gordon Laing says payments have been made to sub-contractors and another payment is expected in February.

The renovated property is expected to reopen in a few weeks. [cbc.ca]
