MCLEAN, Va. — Canopy by Hilton, Hilton Worldwide’s newest hotel brand, has launched “Meet the Neighbours” — a new social media campaign spotlighting locals’ point of view through interviews with the brand in each Canopy neighbourhood.

The brand’s inaugural Canopy Reykjavik, City Centre, which will welcome guests in early 2016, will be the first to showcase the initiative starting this September. After its launch, the program will dedicate one week every month to sharing curated spotlights across select regions. All contributors — ranging from shops and restaurant owners to students and fitness instructors — will live or work within walking distance of a Canopy by Hilton hotel.

“Reykjavik is a thriving city with a robust creative community and a unique energy,” said Gary Steffen, global head, Canopy by Hilton. “We are excited to discover more of Reykjavik and Canopy’s other destinations with our #MeetTheNeighbors campaign through the tips and advice of our new neighbours.”

Some of the features will include a man-made ice cave tunnel; the Laurgardalur, a popular recreational, fitness, and green area in Reykjavik; and Slippbarinn, Reykjavik’s hottest cocktail bar.
