SELKIRK, Man. — The team at Canalta hotels, which has properties in Alberta and Saskatchewan, is opening its first hotel in Selkirk, Manitoba next summer, reports the Winnipeg Free Press.
“Selkirk has needed a new, current (hotel) facility,” said John Pearson, a broker with Shindico as quoted by the paper. According to Pearson, there has been a rise of residential and retail development in the area over the last decade, including a Walmart, Boston Pizza and other retailers.
The 84-room hotel is under construction in the Selkirk Crossing retail power centre. [winnipegfreepress.com]
