LONDON, U.K. — The World Ski Awards recently announced its 2020 award winners, including four Canadian award winners. Instead of the program’s customary gala ceremony, which has been postponed to 2021, the winners were celebrated virtually at the inaugural World Ski Awards Winners Day on November 20.

The results follow a year-long search for the world’s leading ski travel, tourism and hospitality brands. Votes were cast by ski industry professionals and ski consumers, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named the winner.

“Our winners represent the very best of the global ski travel and tourism sector and my congratulations to each of them. They have all demonstrated remarkable resilience in a year of unprecedented challenges,” says Sion Rapson, managing director, World Ski Awards. “The World Ski Awards 2020 program received a record number of votes cast by the public. This shows that the appetite for booking a ski holiday has never been stronger and bodes well for the industry as the global recovery begins.”

Canadian winners of the 2020 Worlds Ski Awards are:
• Revelstoke Mountain Resort — Canada’s Best Ski Resort
• Pan Pacific Whistler Mountain Side — Canada’s Best Ski Hotel
• The Josie — Canada’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel
• Whiteworth Chalet — Canada’s Best Ski Chalet

On the global level, Canadian company Bella Coola Heli Sports was also named World’s Best Heli-Ski Operator for 2020.

Launched in 2013, World Ski Awards aims to drive up standards within the ski tourism industry by rewarding the organizations that are leaders in their field. A complete list of 2020 award winners are available at worldskiawards.com.
