HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — STR data for January 24 to 30 shows Canada’s hotel industry recorded slightly higher occupancy compared with previous weeks.

Percentage changes from a comparable week in 2020 were:
• occupancy: 23.8 per cent (down 58 per cent)
• Average Daily Rate (ADR): $105.34 (a 29.2-per-cent drop)
• Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR): $25.06 (down 70.2 per cent)

Occupancy for previous weeks came in at 23 per cent (week of January 23), 22.6 per cent (week of January 16) and 21 per cent (week of January 9).

For the week ending January 30, British Columbia recorded the highest occupancy level (30 per cent) among the provinces. Among the major markets, Vancouver posted the highest occupancy level at 28.1 per cent.

The lowest occupancy among provinces was reported in New Brunswick (14 per cent), while at the market level, the lowest occupancy was reported in Montreal (13.3 per cent).
