HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. — STR data for June 21 to 27, 2020 shows Canadian hotel performance is up slightly from previous weeks, with the same significant level of year-over-year declines.

In comparison with the week of June 23 to 29, 2019, the industry reported the following:

• Occupancy: down 62.2 per cent to 27.5 per cent
• Average Daily Rate (ADR): down 35.4 per cent to $114.27
• Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR): a 75.6-per-cent decline to $31.38

The previous three weeks produced absolute occupancy levels of 25.6 per cent, 23.6 per cent and 22.2 per cent.

Two provinces reached a 30-per-cent occupancy level: British Columbia (35.6 per cent) and Manitoba (30.2 per cent). Vancouver (30 per cent) was the only major market at or above that mark.

The lowest occupancy among provinces was reported in Newfoundland and Labrador (15.5 per cent). At the market level, the lowest occupancy was seen in Montreal (16.5 per cent).
