TORONTO — Two Canadian destinations have been recognized on Travel + Leisure’s “The 50 Best Places to Travel in 2019” list. Both Alberta and Toronto are featured on the annual list of travel hot spots, which spans cities, regions and countries across the globe.

The publication compiled the list based on press releases, tourism statistics, hotel openings, restaurant debuts and new flight routes, as well as anecdotal evidence and the input of travel experts.

The list notes the new Calgary Central Library, Royal Alberta Museum, Kananaskis Nordic Spa and bison among the top attractions Alberta has to offer. For Toronto, the recently reopened Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), launch of Toronto Biennial of Art, Nuit Blanche and recent hotel openings — including The Anndore House, Kimpton Saint George and St. Regis Toronto — all helped place the city among the top destinations for 2019.
