MONTREAL — The Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montreal, Canada’s first Hyatt Centric hotel, in collaboration with global real-estate developer Jesta Group, is slated to open this fall.

Centrally located in the heart of Old Montreal, the property boasts 177 modern upscale guestrooms, including five suites, a signature restaurant fusing Quebec and British cuisine, a rooftop pool (opening summer 2023), as well as four fully equipped meeting-and-event facilities sprawling nearly 5,000 sq. ft. The convenient location will put guests steps from Place Jacques-Cartier, dining and shopping options, nightlife and many cultural destinations.

Each guestroom will offer multifunctional elements, including a 55-inch flat-screen HDTV, individually controlled heating and air conditioning, blackout curtains, Nespresso machines, a mini fridge, keyless entry operated through the World of Hyatt app and more. Each of the five suites features a king bed, a separate living area, a workspace, a 60-inch flat-screen HDTV and picture windows with views of Square Dalhousie.

The hotel’s lobby and meeting space has been designed by Montreal-based Ivy Studio, while the principal design and architecture for the property has been led by local firm, Provencher_Roy. The lobby is inspired by the Jacques Cartier Bridge, with metal arches and wood panelling, and also includes Terrazzo floor tiles and railway-inspired artwork to achieve a vintage and modern feel. Guests can also experience creatively presented dining at Cartier Arms by the locally renowned Burgundy Lion Group.

“Montreal, and particularly the neighbourhood of Old Montreal, offers an experience unlike most destinations in North America, as it boasts a European flair, and countless local and international events annually, making it the ideal location for Canada’s first Hyatt Centric hotel,” says Don Lougheed, regional vice-president of Franchise Operations & Sales at Hyatt Hotels of Canada. “As part of the evolution of a dynamic neighbourhood rich with history, Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montreal will be housed within the Place Gare Viger development, infusing new life into a deep-rooted and profound part of the city.”

“When working with Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montreal, marking a special debut for the Hyatt Centric brand in Canada, we set the bar very high to deliver an unparalleled and authentic experience for guests in the heart of Old Montreal,” says Anthony O’Brien, senior managing director of Jesta Group. “We’ve designed this property to celebrate the deep history and vibrancy of the neighbourhood and all it has to offer and look forward to welcoming visitors and Montrealers alike for an incomparable experience.”
