NEW YORK — Canada has topped another list of top travel destinations. The New York Times has dubbed Canada the number-1 place to travel in 2017 on its newly released list 52 Places to Go in 2017.
The ranking cites the country’s 150th anniversary celebrations as a key reason to explore Canada this year. The sheer variety of experiences Canada has to offer and its natural beauty are also noted as reasons to visit, along with Montreal’s 375th birthday festivities.
Joining Canada in the top destination rankings are the Atacama Desert in Chile; Agra, India; Zermatt, Switzerland and Botswana. The complete list is available at nytimes.com.
