CALGARY — The Calgary Hotel Association is reportedly not planning to renew its financing contract with Tourism Calgary.
“We made the decision to reallocate our funding to partners that we believe can drive some really good results to our members. We had a three-year funding agreement with [Tourism Calgary] that does expire this December, and our decision at this time is not to renew that agreement,” Leanne Shaw-Brotherston, president of the Calgary Hotel Association, is quoted as saying by the Calgary Herald.
The Tourism Calgary contract is a three-year, $2.5-million deal that dates back to 2011.
Last week, Tourism Calgary replaced president and chief executive Randy Williams with interim CEO, Cindy Ady.
