TORONTO — Café Boulud will host Le Choix des Chef — a dinner event featuring a special menu by chef de cuisine Nicholas Trosien and guest-chef Adrian Forte — on August 26.

The two top Toronto chefs will join forces for this one-time culinary experience and a portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go to Olympia’s Gift, a Toronto-based scholarship fund for students of African descent pursuing business or entrepreneurship.

Forte, a recent competitor on Food Network’s Top Chef Canada, is a champion of Afro-Caribbean cuisine. He’s also a driving force for inclusivity within the hospitality industry and the founder of Chef du Jour — a company that pairs talented chefs with private-dining experiences, personal-chef services, catering, consulting and media appearances.

“As the restaurant industry settles into its new normal, I’m thrilled to be hosting this event with chef Nicholas and the Café Boulud team that brings people together for an incredible cause,” says Forte. “I’ve been a long-time fan of chef Daniel Boulud, and I was lucky enough to learn from him when he was a guest judge during my time on Top Chef Canada. Having the opportunity to collaborate in one of his kitchens is truly a full circle moment.”

Le Choix des Chef will feature a three-course fine-dining menu showcasing the signature styles of each chef and represents the first special event to be hosted in Café Boulud since Four Seasons Hotel Toronto re-opened on August 5.

“Developing this menu with chef Adrian has been an exciting process,” explains Trosien. “Our entire team is incredibly proud to be supporting Olympia’s Gift and it’s been an honour to work with chef Adrian to bring our shared vision to the table.”
