TORONTO — As a way to help furloughed hospitality workers from Accor, leading procurement company Avendra recently organized a food drive.
Volunteers from Avendra, Accor and throughout the local community teamed up last week to help distribute the bags and boxes of food, which was provided through in-kind donations by Canadian suppliers. The charity-drive event was organized, promoted and hosted at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel on May 14. Both Edwin Frizzell, regional vice-president of Accor and GM of the Fairmont Royal York, and Afsar Khan, director, Customer Care from Avendra, were present to give away the bags and boxes to employees who were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
