TORONTO — The Ascend Hotel Collection is adding a new property in Kamloops, B.C. The hotel will be the first new build to join the brand’s growing portfolio in Canada and is expected to open in 2020.

There are more than 200 Ascend projects globally and 13 Ascend hotels in Canada, as well as six projects in the pipeline. The hotel, part of the Choice Hotels Canada family, will be known as The Hue.

The 36-room, six-storey boutique hotel will offer modern-style guestrooms, interiors and amenities designed to suit the needs of business-travel and upscale-leisure visitors to the area.

“We are very excited about this project,” says Jassi Sanga, co-owner. “We expect to offer a one-of-a-kind hotel product in Kamloops — a fantastic local experience with attentive guest service.”

“Ascend gives guests access to a variety of independent upscale hotels, while maintaining the benefits from our growing Choice Privileges loyalty program,” says Choice Hotels Canada president, Brian Leon. “From an investment perspective, hotel owners find the Ascend Hotel Collection appealing because it provides development and operational flexibility while benefiting from the global presence of Choice Hotels, a strong reservation system in choiceEDGE and operational support, including national marketing and sales efforts.”
