WELLINGTON, Ont. — Drake Hotel Properties has announced that Amanda Ray is the new executive chef for the Drake Devonshire Inn located in Prince Edward County, Ont.

“Over the course of my career, I’ve been very active in the culinary industry in Toronto and across the country. I’m very excited to join a team and a company who value creativity, cultural innovation and approachability within their culinary program,” says Ray. “I look forward to bringing my own unique take to The Drake’s comfort classics, one that incorporates the vibrant local offerings and seasonal Ontario flavours The County is known for.”

After graduating from George Brown College’s Culinary Management Program in 1999, Ray began her career with Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality. Her past roles include working at Auberge du Pommier under chef Jason Bangerter (currently executive chef at Langdon Hall), Canoe under corporate executive chef Anthony Walsh, Biff’s Bistro as chef de cuisine/executive chef and, most recently, chef de cuisine of Le Mount Stephen Hotel & Events in downtown Montreal.

Ray is also involved in many charitable ventures, including Toronto Taste, Gold Medal Plates (Ontario Regional Champion, 2016), Canadian Chef’s Congress, What’s on the Table in support of The Stop Community Food Centre and the Brickworks Picnic in support of Slow Food.
