OTTAWA — Alana Baker, Hotel Association of Canada’s (HAC) vice-president of Policy & Public Affairs has left the association to lead the Government Relations department at the Automotive Industries Association of Canada.

Baker joined the HAC team in the spring of 2017. Her extensive background and experience in advocacy and public-affairs campaigns immediately enabled HAC to expand its growing advocacy portfolio. During her tenure, she has provided valuable leadership to HAC and its members, and together with the team, secured significant advocacy wins.

“Alana has made an incredible contribution to our industry, and we are proud of her work and career progression,” says Susie Grynol, president, HAC. “She will be deeply missed for her professionalism, enthusiasm, resilient attitude, hard work ethic and her passion and commitment to Canada’s hotel sector.”

HAC has commenced the search process and will have a new candidate in place as soon as possible.
