DALLAS — Accor North America (ANA) is preparing to embark on a new chapter in human resources with news that Olivier Poirot, CEO of Accor North America, Motel 6 and Studio6, will assume additional responsibilities following the upcoming June departure of Michael Flaxman, COO of Accor Americas.
Poirot will take responsibility of Novotel network in Canada and Accor operations in Mexico, while continuing to lead the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in the U.S. and Canada and providing support of Sofitel operations in North America. The CEO has also been appointed a member of Accor’s Worldwide Management Committee.
“Under [Poirot’s] tenure, the network grew by more than 150 locations, primarily through franchise growth, reaching 1,100 locations for Motel 6/Studio 6 by the end of 2010,” reads a press release. “Under his leadership, Motel 6 introduced the contemporary, award-winning ‘Phoenix’ prototype that will take the Motel 6 brand through the next decade.”
Flaxman leaves Accor after 27 years of service in a number of operations, development and distribution roles throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
