NEW YORK —Travel + Leisure magazine has released its list of the Best Hotels in Canada and the World, and, in both cases, Post Hotel & Spa in Lake Louise, Alberta and the Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino, B.C., have been noted as the top Canadian properties.

The Post and Wickaninnish placed first and second, respectively on the list of Top Resorts in Canada, as well as 17th and 30th, respectively on the list of Best Hotels in the World.

What’s more, The Wickaninnish Inn is the only property in Canada to be noted as a Travel + Leisure Hall-of-Fame award winner, which means it has appeared on the magazine’s World’s Best list for 10 consecutive years. “We are both humbled and inspired by this latest recognition,” said Charles McDiarmid, managing director of the Wickanninish Inn, who also won Hotelier magazine’s Hotelier of the Year Pinnacle Award several years ago. “To once again be ranked among the world’s best, and to have made the list for over 10 years in a row, is a measure of consistent quality that is a great testament to the dedicated team at the Wickaninnish Inn.”

Other Canadian properties noted on the list of Top Resorts in Canada include the Four Seasons Resort in Whistler, B.C.; The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta and The Fairmont Chateau Whistler in B.C., who placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

Every year, the Travel + Leisure winners are determined by readers vote. This year’s results will be published in the August 2013 issue of the magazine as well as on travelandleisure.com.
