QUEENS COUNTY, N.S. — The reconstruction of White Point Resort began Thursday following a fire that destroyed the property in November.

Robert Risley hopes the $4-million reconstruction will bring more business. “A few of our facilities were getting a little tired, particularly for group business and corporate business,” Risley was quoted as saying by The Chronicle Herald. “So along with this reconstruction of the main lodge, we’re also spending the $1 million that the province lent us to upgrade our existing accommodation.”

The resort is expected to reopen in November, just in time for Nova Scotia Music Week, which runs from Nov. 8 to 11.
